A great book! It is definitely a refresher course on marriage and the commitments we make to one another. Time passes and things change, this book helps us to understand that it’s okay as long as we are continually working on our marriage. We all make mistakes, we all have bad days, but when the going gets tough we have to remember that we are in this marriage thing together. We are a partnership and we need to remember that.

The author starts at the very beginning, the story of Adam and Eve. He walks us through the beginning of sin and deceit and how it affects us today. Our relationships are important, and we made a vow to work together through thick and thin. He has a lot of insightful information throughout the book, tips and tricks and ways to get your marriage back on track, things to do to  help with any conflicts. At the end of each section, there is a set of questions to really help you remember what you just read and to take evaluation of your life and relationship with your partner.

This book is so full of information. It’s full of ways to improve communication and ways to be honest to each other. It truly has a little something for everyone. Even if you are not married, it is still a great book to read. It’s a great reminder to be open and honest in any relationship.

I received this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I really have 4 children.. One is just covered in fur..

I was in the process of putting my babies to bed and I say, “boys come on, get up here and lay down.” Our fur-baby a beautiful boxer girl is also in the room at the same time.. As soon as I say get up here and lay down she tries to get up on the bed  (she knows she is not allowed on the kids’ bed, she pushes them out lol). With one foot perched on the bed I say, “I’m not talking to you Kloey”… She grumbles at me but stays one foot perched on the bed… I say,” go lay down in your own bed”. She barks at me, grumbles a little and turns around and walks out… Wagging her tail the whole way… She knows momma loves her.. But goodness does she have sass!

Anyone else have fur-babies that act like they are human? She constantly looks at me with those gorgeous brown eyes with an understanding that you would think comes from a human. She grumbles at me when she wants something and even when she doesn’t get her way.

She is my baby, she is one of us and will always be that way. She is getting up there in years and I worry about her often (boxers tend to have a host life-expectancy). But I spoil her rotten every chance I get because she is truly one of the best dogs I’ve ever had. She’s amazing with the kids and treats them like they are her own babies. She has put up with a lot of baby lovin over the past 7 years, even being used as a step stool by my youngest to reach a snack all the while snoozing away.

Her pretty bling!

Our first year with an Elf on the Shelf!

This is our first year with our Elf on the Shelf! It was only by happenstance that he came into our lives! 😉 My good friend was looking for one for her 2 boys and I happened upon one at a thrift store in brand new condition!!! Omg! I was so excited I had found one for her after she had looked forever! So I get ready to take it over to her and ended up getting on Facebook before I leave and see that she had already found one! Dang it…. So even though I haven’t been a huge fan of the Elf craze I decided to keep him. My kids were over the moon about him and enjoyed seeing what craziness he was up to everyday!

Unfortunately, I have a terrible memory!! I always forgot him! And if you’ve seen my previous holiday post I would make a mad dash down the stairs to find a new spot for him! On a few occasions I didn’t forget him and I was able to set him up nicely! Needless to say my kiddos loved it and even though it was irritating it was worth it to see them rushing around the house to find him! He even brought a few yummies and the new Secret Life of Pets movie!! I know my kids are spoiled! 🙂 🙂

Anyways here is a few pictures!!! Some of them were found on Pinterest! So if you do the Elf on the Shelf make sure to check out the great ideas on Pinterest! If you do Elf on the Shelf I’d love to see what you’ve done!! Or I’d love to hear your ideas, I’m stocking up for next year!! 🙂 🙂

Our very first night with him!!! Can you tell? I actually put some effort into it!!! That makes me sound like a bad mom lol! 🙂

This is one of those I forgot moments, what is closest thing that I can use to set him up!?!? On this morning there was my youngest’s Woody costume nearby!

We had leftover birthday cupcakes!! Of course Luigi had to have some too! 🙂

“I was practicing for my race with Rudolph and I got stuck! Please Help!!!! (This was my hubby’s idea)

luigibedluigiWe even made him his own bed, blankets and a pillow. AND of course we had to have a stocking! 🙂

I look forward to seeing your Elf ideas!!!! 🙂 🙂 Hope you had a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Holidays are CRAZY!!!!!!

So sorry for checking out on everyone!!

I love Christmas and everything about it, the craziness, the drunken family members and the uncontrollable laughter of 15 people celebrating Christmas together. I love the food, the trees, the lights and the fact that I get to have all my boys and hubby home together for a long Christmas break!! I get to sleep and finally get caught up on the honey-do list I have for my hubby 😉

But before this wonderful whirlwind started, it started off crappy!

So the week before our Christmas break was supposed to begin I ended up being so sick I couldn’t even get out of bed. I thought I had the flu but apparently I had a severe reaction to an antibiotic (Bactrum) that I was taking due to a sinus infection. If you are allergic to sulfa drugs, make sure you know!!! Lol….so apparently I didn’t know and it turned in to severe body chills (like teeth chattering and everything!), fever and a full body rash that felt like I was being eaten alive inside and out by a bunch of fire ants. I know that sounds dramatic but OMG…..it sucked!

So anyways…… following a steroid shot, a whole lot of benadryl and benadryl cream I finally felt like a human being again…..After being sick for an entire week I was thrown into a week long frenzy of school parties and Christmas activities. Unfortunately, for the first time in 7 years I missed my kiddos getting to see Santa. I was so sick, that I was stuck in bed binge watching Friends. It broke my heart! The good thing is that they barely noticed I was gone! My wonderful hubby managed to corral them enough to get them there and back! I am so thankful for him!! 🙂

Seriously, this time of year is so crazy hectic! We had two school Christmas parties, Boy Scouts Christmas party, Christmas Eve with my sister, Christmas Day at our house and trying to keep up with our own family traditions it is so difficult! I was ready to pull my hair out by the time it was all over. AND I was a crazy lady and started the elf on the shelf tradition, which my kids love, but OMG I was frustrated by that thing by the time Christmastime came around. I ALWAYS FORGOT ABOUT IT!!! It was always a mad dash down the stairs to throw him somewhere before the kids made it down for breakfast! 🙂

In all honesty I love this time of year! It’s a great time to celebrate family and I absolutely love having the extra time home with my kids and hubby! Even though I haven’t gotten a whole lot accomplished and the thought of having to wear jeans again on Tuesday just makes me cringe 🙂 sweatpants have become my friend! There has also been a lot of Pokemon Go playing 😉

I hope everyone has had a WONDERFUL Christmas and have a safe and happy new year!!!

See you all in the NEW YEAR!!!!

God Bless!

Hands down one of the best books I have ever read. If you haven’t read this book, I highly recommend that you go buy it now….I mean right now! It should be given out to newly weds, new parents, 2nd 3rd 4th time parents, grandparents and everyone in between. There is something within these pages for everyone.

There is so much that you can take away from this book, so much happening that with each page you find something else fascinating. Whether it is their hilarious adventures as parents or their ability to know what they want as navy pilots and counselors for juvenile delinquents. It made me laugh, cry, shake my head yes (so many times!) that I felt like I knew these people. I related and it was a breath of fresh air, knowing that I am not alone in the crazy cyclone of a parenting world. I have been that new mom with no friends, I’ve attended the awkward gatherings to meet other new moms and I have left the house in sweatpants smelling of baby formula and puke.  I’ve been there….and to know that someone else has too, well that makes me feel like a normal human being.

As soon as I finished the book, I was ready to dive into it again! Annmarie talks about Jane Eyre in this book, “It is said that for a work of literature to be deemed a “classic” it must elicit a new response in us each time we read it.”. I believe it…..I believe whole-heartedly that as I read through it a second time I will get something even more amazing out of it. It is so inspiring and hilarious.

Reading this book was like sitting in the same room as Ken and Annmarie, I felt like I was there listening to their life stories and their wisdom over a cup of coffee. I feel like I know these amazing people and they are people you would want to know. They are driven, they help others and they find the things that they are passionate about and they pursue them. They live life to the fullest even if their kids don’t always cooperate. They describe everything in such detail that I felt like I was there on the small boat named “Marlon” while they caught crab, hunkered down in a tropical storm awaiting the sound of a new born infant, or kite-surfing in shark infested waters. There is always an adventure.

Amazing book! I have already recommended it to several friends and I recommend it to you now!! Buy links are listed below! Also check out their website www.dadvmom.com!

I am so thankful for Annmarie giving me a copy of this amazing book to review!! You guys are amazing authors and I feel so lucky to have been able to read this book!

Our summer beach vacation!!

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina! We had a blast going here over the summer. It was the first time my children have ever seen the beach and they were overly excited to be there! Even though it took us 20 hours to drive there it was totally worth it! (Yes, we are crazy. Yes, it was a nightmare on the way home with three overly tired, whiny children in the car. Would I do it again??? Yes, yes I would!)

First time on the East Coast!

The SkyWheel was awesome!!

My babies enjoying the beautiful Aquarium!

The Medieval Times show was a blast! Lots of great food and fun entertainment!

If you’re in Myrtle Beach definitely check out the golf courses!! This one was my kids’ favorite!

Lots of fun and lots of memories were made on this trip! AND I can’t wait to go back!!!

Being a Parent= Redbox renting

Sometimes getting out for a date is near impossible. My husband and I haven’t been on a date for a year… sad I know lol. But with three kids, his work schedule and being an hour or more away from family it makes it difficult finding someone we both trust to take care of the kiddos. So we often find ourselves yearning for that movie experience! So we take a weekend night after the kids go to bed we splurge on some freshly popped popcorn and candy. We snuggle in and finally get to see whatever movie it is we’ve been wanting to see for months.

I know it sounds pathetic lol, but unfortunately for now (at least until the kids get a little older or we find a reliable babysitter) Redbox is our mega movie experience! 🙂 But that’s ok, sometimes its nicer to be in pj’s and snuggled in a nice comfy bed without other people around to ruin your movie-going experience!

Can you relate?? What kind of at home date ideas do you use?? I would love your input!! 🙂

Anyways these are the few we’ve seen this year and actually enjoyed! I’m sure there are more but this is all I could remember!! 🙂 🙂

Finding Dory

Captain America: Civil War

Angry Birds

Kung Fu Panda 3

Secret Life Pets

Star Trek Beyond

Now You See Me 2

Me Before You

Central Intelligence

What are your favorite movies from this year??? I’d LOVE to hear from you!! 🙂

Fitbit obsession~ Excerise adversion

I lost my Fitbit this morning! It came unsnapped and fell off without my knowledge. I about had a breakdown!!! I didn’t realize it had slipped off until I dropped my oldest off at school and looked down to see what time it was and…..it wasn’t there!!! 😦 I was very sad and a little crazy, I rushed home to toss my house around….couldn’t find it…. looked in the car….couldn’t find it… talked with the school office….no one had found it…..I was very upset! Then I found it!! It was under my oldest’s seat, somehow when I helped him out this morning it fell off!

Anyways, the point of this story is I am addicted and very much obsessed with my Fitbit. It is an amazing accessory…in my favorite color purple! It is a good incentive to work out and it keeps me accountable. I finally broke down over the summer and purchased my first Fitbit. It was a reward and incentive for myself since I had undergone 2 surgeries over the summer and I really needed to get my hiney off the couch. I fell in love with it and slowly started  a very slow workout regimen.

To be honest I hate exercise! It is the one thing that I despise the most (I used to be a hard core exerciser in High School and College) and I really don’t like the fact that I can’t eat everything I want and not exercise. It makes me sad. Once I became a Mom, exercising was non-existent. I went from actually somewhat enjoying exercise to deeply despising it. I was tired all of the time and there was never a time I felt like working out. Between dirty diapers and breastfeeding and my kids only being each 22 months apart, life has been non-stop crazy for the past 7 years. Yes, I have three kids all under the age of 7. AND they are all boys….So definitely non-stop boy style crazy at our house.

Eventually I would try to get into some kind of exercise again. I’ve tried them all; Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, Karate, Cycling, Running, Fitness Blender on Youtube and many more. I really don’t care for any but cycling and yoga. I royally hurt my knee trying to train for a 5k and I’ve had numerous ankle accidents that have held me back too. So after having my 3rd child I had finally had it with my yo-yo weight gain/loss. I had a really hard time fully committing to an exercise. It doesn’t take much for me to fall off the wagon lol.

But this last January, I felt horrible about myself….too much holiday food! So I gave up pop and hopped on the get fit wagon with my hubby. I found out in mid May that I would need a partial Hysterectomy… So that get fit wagon ran into a giant road block…. lol. The surgery had complications and made for a longer recovery. But I finally felt well again and in came the wonderful Fitbit. Then only 8 weeks after my surgery I found out I would need a second surgery. So as much as I hated it… the get fit wagon broke down again.. Finally and this is a big finally I feel good enough to start exercising again. AND I am lifting weights with my husband!! :):) We want to run a race called Conquer the Gauntlet.. It’s a high endurance race that includes a lot of upper body usage…which I have absolutely none of..so my wonderful husband is helping and pushing me to do better each day. I hate it, I absolutely hate it… but even though I don’t want to be there I push myself and make myself do it.. AND you know what??? I’ve actually seen a difference in my body and in the way I feel.

So long story short…really not so short…sorry! Lol! 🙂 Be good to yourself, keep yourself in shape and love the body you’re in! Even though you hate doing it…it’s worth it in the long run. I truly appreciate the fact that my husband pushes me because he knows I won’t do it if I’m not and I feel better when I do it! So find something you love and maybe an incentive or two to get the ball rolling and get to it!

Good luck and God Bless!!!!

A Pokemon Party!! My baby turned 5!

So my kids are so (and I mean SOOOOOOOOOO) obsessed with all things Pokemon! It’s OK, I mean they could have picked something way worse… I mean literally their is absolute garbage on TV anymore… Whatever happened to Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck or the Looney Tunes. Anyways its all Pokemon all the time at my house, and yes we ALL play Pokemon GO. Did I mention I have 3 boys? Yea so…. two Pokemon birthday parties within the next two months. But this month is my now 5 year old’s birthday….YAY!

So we’ve been busy the past couple of weeks! We’ve had an actual birthday party on Sunday and then his preschool birthday party was today! Yay! But where has the time gone and why is my baby getting older!!!! 😦
