Happily married to her college sweetheart, Poppy lived a blessed life with the husband of her dreams. Then everything changed. She is no longer a wife. She is no longer the envy of her single friends. Now, people look at her with pity as they whisper a single word behind her back.

Years after her husband’s tragic death, years of pain and sorrow and wishing for the life she’ll never get back, Poppy decides to finish Jamie’s birthday list. She’ll do the things he wanted to most. Because maybe, just maybe, if she can complete his list, she can start to live again.

Poppy expects going through the birthday list will be hard. She expects it to hurt. But what she doesn’t expect is Cole. Could the man who delivered the news of her husband’s death and shattered her heart be the one to help her put it back together again?

I found Devney Perry and her amazing books last year and completely fell head over heels for ALL of them! The characters are amazing and the writing will keep you coming back for more! I was so excited to find that she had a new book! THE BIRTHDAY LIST!!! Sounds intriguing, right?!?!?!? It is such an fantastic book! Once again her writing is spectacular and the story literally sucks you in from the very first page. There are so many emotions that I felt while reading this book and it was totally worth it!! 🙂

Poppy is our main gal, the girl next door if you will. She is a sweet, innocent woman who has her world shaken to pieces when her husband is murdered while out running errands! This is where the tears start for me! I can’t help but put myself in her position and my heart broke for her! Fast forward five years and we find her still reeling from the loss of her husband but trying to move forward in opening her new restaurant, The Maysen Jar. I loved how she incorporated her name into a business!! Using only mason jars is super cool and creative!!! 🙂 I would totally eat at this restaurant!!!

While Jamie (her husband) was still living, he was the kind of guy who was very over the top and outgoing. He started a “birthday list” of things he wanted to do throughout the years. Some of those things are wacky and fun while others were more dangerous/thrill seeking. So in honor of her husband, Poppy decided to complete this “birthday list” for him. While trying to work through this list, she stumbled upon a man from her past. Could he be the answer to her prayers or too much of a reminder of her late husband. Well you need to read it to find out!!!! 🙂 🙂

Cole our leading man is hunky, kind and super sweet to Poppy! Maybe with his help she will be able to put her past behind her and look to the future. Trust me you won’t be disappointed once you meet this fantastically gorgeous, muscular, over the top kind, outgoing man. Sorry, I got a little carried away just then. But seriously, Cole is my new book boyfriend and will be for awhile! He’s dreamy and the way he treats Poppy will make you swoon! 😉

So please don’t wait a second longer! This book is calling your name and it will definitely fill you with all kinds of emotions, good and bad! I cried, I laughed and I fell in love with ALL of the characters! I don’t want to go into too much detail, because this is a book worth discovering for yourself and it will definitely be put it my read-again pile! I loved this book so much and I can’t wait for Devney to release more! 🙂
