Irene Hannon’s “Sea Rose Lane”

Great book! This book has a lot going on and was a tad hard to get into, but once it finally starts to pick up speed it’s a non stop journey through so many emotions! BJ is  someone we can all relate to, a woman with insecurities. She has a rough and heart-wrenching past that makes you feel sorry for her, yet admire her at the same time. Eric is that high flying guy with the good looks that makes BJ leary of his intentions. But once she finally comes to know him, deep down he is a good person. She is slowly falling in love with him and he is slowly figuring out his life needs to change. It is a beautiful story of triumph, love, trust, friendship and leaning on God at all times. There is a lot of faith in this book, a small undercurrent of religion. BUT it is interwoven into the story in such a way that it doesn’t take away from the characters or the plot. I truly enjoyed getting to know each of these characters and the author gave them all very detailed pasts and backgrounds. It is very well written and I would definitely recommend it to everyone! 🙂

London’s square mile is witness to a revolution, a new breed of business woman. They call us tiger sharks. We out-earn, out-work and out-play our male counterparts. We work the system, play the game and most importantly, win. In a city full of sharks only the most ruthless make it to the top of the pool.

The number one rule: never sleep with the boss. Ever. I had no intention of breaking it until I met my new boss. No matter how strong my resolve, Landon Banks can smell weakness like a shark smells blood in the water, and I’m bleeding.

The hunter becomes the hunted, lines start to blur, and I have a choice to make. Screw or be screwed. Of course, I never was much good at taking it like a bitch. Landon Banks will be learning to grab his ankles if I have anything to do with it.

Things are about to get interesting in the game of predator versus predator. Who will come out on top?

Melody Carlson “All Summer Long” Review

Sweet love story! Took me a little while to get into this book, but it was well worth it. Very relatable characters that I enjoyed getting to know. It was a very predictable story line, I knew how it would end but wasn’t sure how it would happen. Tia is a very sweet character that is unsure of her  future but a wiz in the kitchen. When she sees an old crush (Leo) her world was exciting and hopeful. But unfortunately Leo pulls out a surprise at there first dinner together, which turns her world upside down. She has a lot of things going on in her life; heartbreak, a new venture and an ill uncle. So much stress can cause a person to go crazy, and boy does she have her  crazy moments! So many secrets and so much stress, when she finally spills the beans it is hilarious and over the top! I loved her character and how she tried to keep to herself, but she kept getting sucked into other people’s problems! Very relatable and humorous! Even had a touch of romance! Great book with smooth execution. Enjoyed this book very much and will be recommending it to everyone I know! Really was a great fairytale! 😀

Review of Tina Forkner’s”Nashville by Heart”

A love story at its finest! Gotta love the drama, the boots and the hunky music man. So much to wrap your head around in this book, a strong independent women looking to make her mark on the world with a beautiful voice. She has what it takes but will she get wrapped up in a love affair with something other than her music? A hunky music exec that has a way with the ladies has found a soft spot for Gillian. Should he make a move? Should she deny the love that lies below the surface? So many questions!! It had me racing through the chapters just to see what was going to happen!
There is always something intriguing about these kind of books, a strong female lead and a budding romance that keeps you on your toes! I enjoyed every minute of this book and would love to see a sequel! Such a great dynamic between the two characters that you can’t help but love!
I will definitely be recommending to my friends! 🙂

5 Star Review for “5-Minute Nighttime Bible Stories”

What’s better than a fun colorful book to teach your kids more about the word of God. This book is so great!!! It has wonderful, bright coloring to each of the pages and super cute drawings to illustrate the stories of the bibles!  There is great organization to this bible, including an old and new testament.

I can’t get over how cute the illustrations are! My kids loved this bible and were super excited to start reading it as soon as it arrived. It is a great way to get kids interested in learning about God and the bible without it being too technical. I have personally purchased and used other children’s bibles but this on is by far my favorite one. The passages are short and easily readable, my 6 year old son loves to read from this book! It has become his own personal bible!

Loved it and will definitely cherish it for years to come!! I will be recommending this book to all my mom friends!! 🙂

Marcus Brotherton “Feast for Thieves” Review

“Preaching or Prison, an impossible choice for a man who usually solves his problems with a rifle or his fists”

This book is full of never-ending drama! I loved it! Rowdy is a rough around the edges kind of guy that you can’t help but relate to. We’ve all made mistakes, sinned in some way, but he found God along the way and changed into someone he never thought he could be. The book starts out with a bank robbery gone bad and takes us through Rowdy’s transformation into a completely different person. He finds God, even though his life is turned completely upside down, he truly finds God. It’s amazing and reminds us that irregardless of the sins we have committed, God still loves us. There is always hope for redemption. I loved how it tied in different Bible verses throughout the story. Rowdy had such a hard time coming to terms with his new job, and it made me chuckle more than once. Playing out his transformation in my head from a broken to saved man was not only eye-opening, but comical. He blossomed, each week he got better and had a better understanding of the bible and God’s purpose for him. Which should give us all hope! We can do anything, with God’s help and determination!

The book was written as a first person narrative, which was interesting. It made me feel like I was reading Rowdy’s journal or like I was there listening to him tell the story. I don’t read too many books in first person narrative, but I truly enjoyed it. I was never once bored and the entire book was very descriptive. Again, I felt like I was there! The way the author described the town and the beautiful yellow poppies, I could see it in my mind clear as day. I love when a book can paint a clear picture for you of where the characters are. It was overall a great book and I would definitely recommend it to family and friends!!!

Check it out!!

Sheila Walsh “The Longing In Me” review

Great content! Poorly executed! I enjoyed this book it has a lot of potential and I heard a lot of good reviews from several of my friends. I was very excited to start this book, but unfortunately I found myself wishing I was done with it. It has so much to offer, the biblical story of David and the personal life story of Sheila Walsh. It was interspersed between the two topics which was great but the switching back and forth between numerous different dates made it confusing. I enjoyed her story and it is definitely a book of overcoming emotional life obstacles and finding God. I loved the content but would only rate it 4 out of 5 just because of the flippy floppyness of it all. She had a lot of great insight and helpful pointers to connect more with God. She has a great first person point of view, I felt like she was talking right to me. Good book, but could use some better organization. Probably would recommend it to friends and family!
